Symbicort Safety Instructions for Patients

Read the Medication Guide that comes with each new prescription and refill of Symbicort. It is also important to:
• Discontinue the regular (eg, 4 times/day) use of oral/inhaled short-acting beta2-agonists
• Use short-acting, inhaled beta2-agonists only for symptomatic relief of acute asthma symptoms
• Report any increased use of inhaled, short-acting beta2-agonists (a marker of worsening asthma) to your doctor
• Do not use a long-acting inhaled beta2-agonist while taking Symbicort
• Do not exceed the recommended dosage.
